Book Signing at Hub City!
I scored a great book signing at Hub City in Spartanburg, SC June 10 with two other writers. Don’t we look all authory in our photo?
Hub City Bookshop in Spartanburg will feature book signings and readings from three Tryon writers on Tuesday, June 10 from 5-7 p.m. at 186 W. Main St., in the heart of downtown Spartanburg.
Lee Stockdale, Norman Powers, and Suki McMinn will represent Tryon—a small North Carolina town with a rich literary history and still a welcoming home to many writers, as they offer their novels, Murder of Law, Lily’s game, and Drop Dead Gorgeous, to Hub City.
Stockdale, a former JAG colonel with a BA in English from the University of Washington, a member of Tryon Writers, and the 2013 Sidney Lanier Poetry Prize recipient, will present his novel, Murder of Law, and perform selected poems. It is not inconceivable he may also sing a song and play blues harp.
Norman Powers, a Massachusetts native and current Landrum resident, is a past recipient of the Hub City Writers Project’s Hardegree Prize for creative non-fiction for his memoir, Building Stories. He will offer his latest novel, Lily’s Game, at the Hub City event.
Suki McMinn, a member of the North Carolina Writers Network and Tryon Writers, grew up in Asheville and has an English degree from the University of Tennessee, but returned to the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2011 after working as a model and commercial actor for nearly three decades in Los Angeles. McMinn will present her adult vampire romance, Drop Dead Gorgeous.
After brief readings, all three Tryon writers will be available to sign their books.
